Here she is. My "new" 1965 Mustang. It was my uncle's car since 1966, but sat since the mid 80's due to a bad cylinder. The old V8 was pulled mid 90's, and the car again sat until Dec. 2006. I always wanted this car. I loved the way it sounded when It was still running. Now that she's mine I have started the restoration/modification. It's been a year, and with the lack of funding, it's been hard to get the ball rolling.
Here are some scanned pics of her from a little while back.

I found a great little shop close to my house that does amazing work. I had her towed to the shop , and the work began. After replacing the whole passenger side floor pan, full passeger side rear frame rail, repairing the many rust holes, this is how she looks now with the first round of paint.

Check out the perfect 1/8" gaps! The panels are as smooth as silk even in just primer!

After round two...

Finally home after the "cut & buff"

An original center console...

The 17"x8" "Styled Steel" Rims...

She'll be a clone/"Restomod" version of a '65 GT Mustang. I had the side scoups shaved for a sleeker, cleaner look. I still have ALOT of work to do, but I'll enjoy every minute of it. She'll be getting more upgrades as the funds become available, but for now I just want to drive her. I can't wait till I can turn the key, hear that rumble again, and lay down some rubber on the street!
A few goodies I've already got for her:
- 1968 302W
- 4-barrel Holly 600 dbl pumper
- Edelbrock performer 289 intake manifold
- Pertonix HEI distributor
- Rebuilt C4 trans
- 3.20:1 gears
- Front Disc conversion w/drilled and sloted rotors
- Power Brake conversion
- Full Pony interior
- 17"x8" Rims (look like the original "Styled" Steel wheels just bigger)
- Custom 6-gauge instrument cluster w/engine turned overlay

- Ron Francis wiring kit
- Custom kick panels with speaker pods
- 1" drop front springs
- 1" drop rear leaf springs
- 1" front and 3/4" rear anti sway bars
- Larger stainless steel fuel lines
- Stainless steel braided brake hoses
- 3" dual Magnaflow exhaust system
- Ceramic coated Tri-Y headers
and the list goes on...
Now that she's home, the reconstruction can begin.
