Project SIXNINE: 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396
This is my newest project. The car needs a lot of work and I plan on making this car do it all. The car will be used for shows, drag racing, as well as street driving, and maybe a little road racing. My plans include:
Performance:
Performance plans are still quite vague. There will for sure be a whole lot of motor under the hood. I am undecided as to wether I want new school power, such as a LS1 stroker motor, or old school big block. The power will most likely go through an automatic transmission, controlled by a ratchet shifter, to some aggressive gearing out back.
Exterior:
Like I said this car will be show worty. The exterior will most likely be fully shaved. The cars altitude might be brought down a little. It will most likely roll on some 18" wheels for street driving a shows. Color scheme is still a toss up between a solid Sunset Orange Metallic and a deep Charcoal with Black Stripes. For those wondering, it won't have a vinyl top like the car orginally did.
Interior:
The interior will most likely be covered in black, leather for the seats of course. Racing buckets in the front, the stock seat recovered in the rear. The custom built center console that houses the shifter and speakers will be paint matched to the exterior. A moderate sound system to finish it off. Since this car will be used more for street driving than anything it probably will NOT have a cage or be tubbed.
Pics:
Body is in great shape (that's my dad in the pic)

Rear needs a few pieces (that's my friend, his profile is yellowchevy48)

Front needs a lot of pieces

Interior needs major restoration (yes thats the stock exaust pipe, it fell off on the way home from north AL)

I would also like to thank my Uncle Phil for the car.
