my toyota pick-up was powered by a 2.2L mated to a 4 speed manual. with 157000 miles on the clock. I bought it from a friend for 150 bucks because it didn't have any brakes. there was also a rich part in the carb at part throttle. no power steering, this should be fun...
after I put all new brake lines on it (exept drivers side front) I took off the chevy badge and caprice hub caps (which I still have). the bed actually had plastic bed liner with a bed mat inside it. the rear bumper was one of my favorite parts of the truck. it was 3 inch pipe bolted to the frame. If you think this truck was so cheap because it had horrible frame rust or something was badly rusted then your worng. it was just the brake lines and carb that made it so cheap.
because of the dead spot in the carb it was very good at breaking the back wheels loose. the rear tires were somewhat aggressive mud and snow tires that could rip up gravel, mud, grass, and pretty much anything but asphalt. it turned into my dirt drifting truck. a little throttle gets it going and full throttle gets it screaming and in between kills it. the secret lies in the choke closing under vacuum and opening under full load. I never used it for more that screwing around in my spacious yard. I never fixed the carb, although it would have made a great daily driver if I would have.
it had such a nice interior...
my dog stitch sitting in the truck.
I sold the truck at the end of 07/beggining of 08 for no profit. I had to get rid of it because I had bought a camaro and I can only have one project car and one daily driver. I really wanted to keep it.
