This my new project Van. I picked it up from a college in Arizon. 1t's a 4.3 V6. It only has 41,000 miles on it. It's a bear stock shell to work with. No windows, side Barn Doors. I drove it home to California from Mesa AZ for 47.00. My old van would of cost more than twice that.

The first thing I did was remove the the ugly side molding. Also swapped out the grey factory bumpers for some after market crome.

Of corse the lame air bag steering wheel had to go so I replaced it with a GRANT GT wheel.

Next came the shoes. Wheels are Cragar super star rims 15x8 front 15x10 rears.

Tires are Cooper Cobras 245/60/15 fronts 295/50/15 rears

I got around to some work on my shorty project. The carpet is in! I also picked up some seats off craigslist. They are second rows so I used the bases and now my front seats are removable. My last van had swivels that  liked to wobble. These seat bases are solid. The Rear sofa is brand new, I also wired the lights so they turn on when the doors open.

Next I started on the front door panels. I used 1/4 inch plywood. The first layer of foam is 1/8". The next 2 up sets I used 1/4 inch foam. The material is marine vinyl. I paid like 9.00yrd for it. I used 3m spary adhesives for glue. The vinyl I used "3m 80" to glue it to the foam. That stuff is 23.00 per can, "Ouch".... I also counter sunk all the fasteners and glued them in their holes with construction adhesive so they would not want to come through the vinyl so easy when installing them on the truck.

Here’s a picture of my old 77 van I found on the internet. The guy I sold it to put a pretty crazy paint job it. I'm glad someone got hold of it that appreciates it. Enjoy the pictures..... I'll update when I complete.

It looks good so far. I am going to use that tip about the door panel fasteners. Will the outside stay all white?

Looks like a good place to start. I just bought one like your old van. It's a lot harder to find clean vans here in Michigan.
