Here's some pics of the 1992 //M5 European model. The ///M5 series cars was a factory built race car. Big powerful engines, unusual options, hand built & signed in Germany. Many of the options may seem like no big deal, but this is a 1992 model not a late model car. Most of these features were fairly common high end cars, but not on a lot of cars in the US. Ads for this car had a picture of an ///M5 toping a hill and leaveing the ground. All the tires are clear from the ground and fully extended. It was a black car with dark windows. One sentence at the bottom said it all - "Just your average 155 mpg family sedan." The car was electronically limited to 155, but would probably go another 15 faster.

Exterior Features:
Diamond Black Metallic paint
Headlight washers
100W high beams (turns night into day)
55 watt fog lights
30 watt rear fog lights (manditory in Europe)
17 5-spoke turbine wheel that direct air to the big brakes
Stock ground effects kit

Interior Features:
Black Water Buffalo leather interior - seats, seat backs, door panels, dash pad, center console, lower dash. This is a custom interior ordered from the factory. This was not a stock interior. For those that don't know, E34 ///M5s could be ordered any way the buyer wanted - no questions asked.
3 memory position heated front seats. 12 way adjustable
Automatic tilting rear view mirror
Automatic tilting down outside mirrors (when transmission in reverse)
Computer - provided, range, mileage, trip features, speed monitor (alarm), ETA for trips and many other features
Automatic dual zone air conditioner
Auto express power down windows (all of them!)
Auto express open/close sunroof. Tilting feature included.
Rear AC outlets
Rear sun shade

Engine & Drivetrain:
3.8 liter straight 6, dual overhead cams, 4 valve, headers, independant throttle bodies. The engine was rated from the factory at 340 HP and 295 ft lbs of torque. The engine redlined at 7200 RPM and it would pull all the way to redline. Max HP is made at redline. I rebuit the engine that you can see on my home page. After that, it had a alittle more displacement and a bit more HP. Keep in mind the US model //M5 was a 3.6 liter engine that was rated at 310 hp. I had stree races with many ricers and smoked all but one of them. I also had a highway race with a Buick Grand National from 3rd gear. I walked him too. It was unfair because 3rd gear in this car would get you close to 120 mph.

Transmission was a 5-speed manual and the transmission was a posi-trac.
Misc:
23 gallon gas tank gave the car about a 500-600 mile range and would get 25 mpg on the highway at 70-80 miles and hour. At 65 I got as high as 28 miles to the gallon.
I sold this car in 2001. Take here for some more pics. http://www.austintx.net/echristie/M5/For_Sale/FORSALE.htm
