MEANlowGREEN's 1963 Chevrolet C/K Pick-Up This is my project truck. While at first glance it may not look like I've done much of anything to it, I indeed have made some major modifications and plan to do even more!I have shortened the frame 20 inches making it into a short bed and originally I had shortened the step side bed but later I found a super solid & straight fleet side bed so I sprayed it to match and installed it. The original engine and trans have been swapped out for a freshly built 327 with big valve high compression double hump heads, a Performer carb. and Performer RPM intake and Hedman Hedders all fired off by a performance tuned HEI distributor all feeding power to a rebuilt Turbo 350 Transmission with a B&M Shift Kit sending power to a Posi rear end with 3:08.1 highway gears but I am planning to replace the Turbo 350 with a 700-R4 soon.I lowered the suspension 5 1/2 inches up front using drop spindles & springs and 5 inches out back with drop springs and installed Doetsch Tech shocks all around. I rebuilt the front end with Moog parts and added Cross Drilled & slotted Rotors with braided lines to the front along with a new power booster and Corvette master cylinder. It has also been upgraded to a early '70's Chevy Truck power steering box. Inside I have added a set of 2004 Silverado Bucket Seats and Center Console, Carpet and a Alpine IDA-X100 head unit. It is designed to play MP3 files from a USB memory stick and has full iPod controls, which is the reasonI bought it (actually I bought one for both my trucks). I no longer use CDs and the Alpine has no CD drive but it has a large color display that shows album art, it's pretty slick and perfect for my usage. I installed Kicker components with hand made by me fiberglass kick panel speaker pods and a pair of Pioneer 10 inch subs (soon to be upgraded) reside behind the seats where the gas tank used to sit. I installed a Blazer steel gas tank under the bed along with a Cool Cap fuel filler in the bed floor. I plan to do a full frame off restoration meets lowrider as soon as my budget allows. It will eventually be tore down to the bare frame and built back up with new and restored parts and will have a porterbuilt front cross member with a power rack a pinion steering box and full custom built air suspension notched to lay the rockers on the ground. I also plan to install a set of Boyd Coddington 20 inch Billet Wheels, maybe even 22's out back. I hope to eventually install a GM Performance Ram-Jet 502 and a Gear Vendors OverDrive. Only time will tell if the last part ever happens but hey you gotta dream big! I've had the truck for about four years now and it will probablt=y be five more years before it is completely done and I plan to keep it drivable throughout the majority of the build,
