This is Volvo Wagon Number 4. I purchased it new in 1996 and I have been driving it since then. It currently has about 450,000 kilometers on it and other then one clutch and some replacement of suspension pieces, an alternator last spring and a fuel pump it is mostly original. It has been a remarkable car in spite of being ridden hard and put away wet too many times, it just keeps going. Last summer I drove it from Southern Ontario to the Rockies via southern Saskatchewan and Duluth Minn, and back without a hiccup (about 8,300 kms). The year before it went to Halifax and back. The only provinces that it hasn't been to are Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland.

It might not be pretty but it has hauled kids, pets, canoes, bikes, furniture and garbage and never missed a beat!
In southern Saskatchewan the old girl really took out a lot of grasshoppers, see below!

Grasshopper before...

Grasshoppers after....

Well, I'm sorry to see it go but it will continue to run. The Greyhound has gone on to a new home. It passed its safety test and emission test and is now owned by another Volvophile who is replacing an even older one with mine.
So in the words of Neil Young... "Long may you run."
