3.o v6 R/T

(2008) (2008)

(2009)
I first started out wanting to make my car into the mexican market phantom(if you don't know what that is go to page 7), but I have decided to turn a new direction. This car was designed in the age of 90's muscle, which meant V6's and turbocharging were a big deal in the chrysler world. My car is going to be a symbol of this age. The car never got the badge R/T (a road/track version), but instead was named the GTC. In mexico however, they called lebarons "phantoms" which eventually obained an R/T version. So I decided to make an R/T version for the United States using the V6 power plant. I want to make this car like it was a factory option back in 92'. It will never be the fastest car, although it does have a pretty high top speed, but I can make a little power with it and make it more fun to drive. It was a project I started when I was 16, I'm 19 now. My Grandparents gave me this car and I appreciate what they have given me every day of my life. They kept it in pretty good shape and it spent some time down in Florida. This car has a lot of history in the Chrysler world and I want to make it better. I spent most of my time trying to find the perfect pieces to make it unique, and I am still working on it. It only has 86,500 miles on it so far. Eventually I plan on getting a new engine, and it will be nothing short of a monster. I have some ideas from new muscle cars, but I still have an idea of swapping the 6G72 from a Stratus R/T. For now, I'll keep this version of the 3.0. These 6g72's are bullet proof except for oil leaks and valve wear. The transmission is a four speed automatic, but I have been searching for a 5 speed manual that I have had some luck on finding from salvage yards. The automatic is not my favorite, but is in good shape because I've been taking car of it. I've been taking a steady pace fixing it up, especially since parts are not cheap and neither is college.
The paint on my Lebaron is the original radiant red and in very good shape. It will have to be reconditioned eventually, but it still shines very well. I have researched this car for a long time to get some ideas on what it is, and what to do with it. If your good at custom work, the lebaron is your stomping ground. The engine is very capable of power, but without an aftermarket, it can be a hard thing to achieve. Leave me comments on what you think, or if you have any questions.
Lebaron history:
The lebaron was redesigned in 1987. That year it actually became a pace car for the Indianapolis 500, and featured the turbo 2 motor with some other mods to make it capable of handling 150 mph. It was driven by Caroll Shelby who developed the Shelby Cobra, and designed his own line Shelby vehicles that were put in production by Chrysler. He also helped in the developement of the Lebaron.

It was also used as a drag car and in other race circuits. It became a more sporty convertable and coupe that many were interested in. In other countries, these cars sold at prices nearing $35,000. This is one of the only cars that chrysler produced that was not copied by dodge. The closest in design was the Daytona, but featured a different frame. The lebaron was equiped with a Macphersion strut suspension, and electronic controls made it a newer type of car to compete with. These cars came in different turbo's and a V6. Information on the most powerful motor found in the Lebaron is on the last page. (Information from allpar.com)
