1998 Accord LX Sedan
* Progress: 5 Speed Swap, 2001 Coupe Front Conversion ( should be done, Late Jan 09 )
Bought this car in Feb 07 for 6900$, While on leave from overseas. If I did not go overseas, I would not have this car.
Left it bone stock other then the vent visor and bug guard till Spring of this year 2008 and since that well you can see what it changed into. Now I was in a fender bender not to long ago, so why I'm doing the 2001 Coupe Front end onto my sedan. I never was too good with 5 speed but I figured well time to learn, so I gather up parts and stuff and converting over my car to 5 speed, my A/T is kicking the bucket and I'm loosing a bit of performace, I dyno my car before the snow started to fall and I was 113WHP/115 ft lbs, MUCH less then I would have though.
Dad kinda got me into cars when I was young, I would hand dad bolts and tools when I was very young and well wasn't long before I was doing stuff. But still was lacking knowege. I owned Toyota's, Nissan, Chev, Olds, But I fell in love with Honda.
I tried tackling this car kinda on my own, But I had huge help and support with my buddy Brenden ( worked at a tuner shop which I got 60% of my parts ) He help me choose what rims and other options which turned out great, I had alot of support at the Garage ( Jeff, Neil, B ) I want to thank them for letting me hang out and learn. Never did a motor swap before, never stripped a car, never really knew much other then having a import and keeping it running. But shortly after hanging out for the first time, I started to get quite hands on. I learned alot about honda's from them. I joined a car club not too long ago about 7 months and ago and it's great.
Car has 215K KM on it now, I bought it with only 165,000. Never really fail me. Its 11 years old so you can kinda expect that well I'm starting to change some parts... Minor rust here and there. Overall I love my car. Was gonna lower it another .5" to tuck my 17's but I dunno, My room mates always get me to use my car because its a bigger car, But my struts and well being lowered does not make my exhaust happy, I removed the rear seatbelts and limited my car to a 2 seater.
I cannot wait till Spring when I can start working on it again, Put the new rad support on, Change over the front end, put the rear lip on, Put my 17's back on and well put my car in for body and paint. I only put my car into 2 car shows this year, First time really putting a car in other then driving to the shows.
