I bought this car in late July of 2008 after my legacy was totalled. (Check that page out too if you want.) I wasn't sure I was going to be able to find another subaru in time because I only had a few weeks to find a new car before I had to go back to college. Me and my brother were searching craigslist late one night when we found this.
We bought it the next day.
For the next few months I replaced the clutch with an Exedy OEM replacement, since the old clutch was slipping. Clutch jobs = not fun with a subaru. It took us 2 1/2 days of straight work. But the local Subaru dealer quoted me $1100 for them to do it for me. I said screw that and we tackled ourselves.
I also had the windshield replaced because there was a crack that was only going to get bigger. Here's a picture of it without a windshield. It looks strange doesn't it...
I fixed up a few interior pieces that weren't in the best condition. I replaced the steering wheel with the one from my legacy. And I replaced the shift boot with a momo one and the shift knob with the momo knob that comes in the newer WRX's and Legacy's.
