"Nataliegh"

ChunkeeOne's 1991 Ford Explorer

My little Nataliegh...

I bought her out of desperation (for $300).

I then spent less than a hundred to get her running.

No Photos of the trunk space...

It looks like trunk space though, AMAZING trunk space!

I once folded the passenger seat forward

& was able to shove a full length sofa in there, with the gate closed.

I HATE my Dual cd player. It's nice looking but skips to much when driving.

But... What can I say? It was given to me.

I have a load of plans when I get her back, But I'm unable to find anyone else's ride that resembles what I want in the least bit...

Which is kind of good I guess but I can not show you what I'm thinking.

She won't be too flashy or hopped up, No offense to those of you who prefer those mods but it's just not me... I'm thinking of something sleek and smooth. Kind of stock looking only better. The two tone paint job thing was a Ford mistake from the get go, if you ask me, so it'll have to go. The interior is not that bad actually. I might change the colors but it's basic and to the point and easy to incorporate new switches and whatnot.

In the far left corner of the steering wheel photo, you can see my fog light switch I added. I couldn't believe this girl came w/o 'em. I had to crappily unbend my d.side fender to get in a new blinker cover. It'll have to be replaced. The metal is to krinkled to straighten. And I have to get a new headlight bezel. That's about all for the minor stock adjustments.

This girl lasted me a few years with no major problems. A few new tires, new fan blade, a few belts (twas my fault a new One turned into a Few), pulley, fuel pump, fuses, small starter components... Then the smoky day of... Oh h*ll  I don't remember exactly... I pulled over immediately like any slightly intelligent mammal would and saw the chocolatey milk looking substance in my radiator.

When I have a good spot free to tear her apart in Cordova, I'll have someone tow her up... there's No tellin' what my buddy & I will come up with under the hood. I wouldn't even mind sportin' the cash for a new motor, block, whatever. That's how much I dig this truck.

But the day is approaching swiftly...

The day that I kiss her goodbye for a few months.

I feel like I'm sending my kid off to camp or something.

Geez!

I'll be ok and so will she. I'm leaving her in capable hands.

And we will meet again.

D*mn it I miss my F*cking truck!!

This weekend we took a small trip to the local scrap yard and I found a fully in tact headlight bezel to replace my driver's sid e one. If you look closely, you can see that headlight is a little crooked without it. It's sad though... having a piece of my truck here and the other 99.9 % of it in another state. When I find a fender that is in proper shape, I'll get that to. No, I don't care if it's running right now. I will bring her back to life again. It's just a matter of time.

This is actually the only original parts Bezel I think I've ever seen from an Explorer

that isn't cracked, chipped or discolored at all. (Insert Pull-A-Part ad here)

Sorry I haven't posted in a bit. Gillian threw a temper tantrum by tossin' a radiator hose and spraying me a little too close to home, so I've been recovering. Second Degree burns... Ha, I won't do that again if I can help it. Don't get me wrong... it was fun and all. Let me tell ya'... I have some pics I could post but I'm not looking to make everyone sick. I am now a professional on avoiding infection though, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask, my friend.

Not much else to say. My friend who is being a saint letting me keep my truck by his barn back in Mississippi has offered to replace the head gaskets and whatever else may need doing (He just had pretty much the same problem with his truck, the sport version of my Nataliegh, therefore, he's pretty confident) but unfortunately it won't be able to happen until a get a few bucks. It's pretty sad to not even be able to afford a little head gasket and some fluids but... As I said in my Gillian profile, she's taking up a good deal of my money to keep on the road. Hopefully, I'll be able to say more in a month or two.

Can't wait to get her back though, then I can take my time getting Gillian straight without wanting to set her on fire for pissing me off all the time.

(My Baby Sister's Birthday!)

Oh, at how things can change in a week. My buddy went down to MS and got Nataliegh back up and running. Turns out it was a serious radiator problem. It cost three times as much as I could afford because the local Pull A Part didn't have a good radiator but... It's ok. I still have a few things to deal with and he did accidentally break my fog lights but... that's ok to. I have some sort of sensor problem that's making the take off a bit sketchy now... We're thinking it's one of the sensors. Gotta fix my leaky fuel pump seal and fix the fuel gauge problem and the power window problem and I think I need some bushings or springs... he got the saggy tailgate fixed as well. Like I said... I'll know more soon enough.

This is my having her back for two hours report, so...

I'll let you know more within a week probably.

The farthest I've been in the States is Miami,Florida. But that's plane only.Driving-wise,I've gone to the more northern states,Montana,Idaho,Washington,Minnesota,New York,Ohio..and Alaska..way up there by Yukon Territories. What a rebel. I have never driven underage..I got my learners when I was 14,then slacked off and got my License when I was 17 instead of 16..For awhile I was afraid to drive. The though of operating a 4,000+lb hunk of metal with wheels that has the potential to injure or kill a person frightened me.But now I'm over that..after I hit a parked van lol

My mom's nissan handles like a dream..speed limit is like 60mph on the highways,I dont even notice Im doing 100mph..I noticed during my trip to Miami, American's drive hella fast.A mustang tried to race me this past summer,he was ahead of me about to turn on to the offramp and I was like 75ft behind him..and he gunned it..Bahaha he quickly became a spec in the rearview mirror.

Lol well they try to make a run for the front seats, but I make them sit in the back. My lifestyle needs the space of a minitruck, but I dont need the insane pulling power of a fullsize truck..6,000lb is fine with me..Jimmy can pull a 28ft Ultralight trailer..I would never be able to drive it pulling a 28ft trailer behind me but if I ever wanted to RV it instead of camping,I could haul a big camper. Haha oooh I stay away from small cars, bad habits. I take my mom's 350Z in the summer for drives..Wooohoo!!I love that car.Im surprised I havent got pulled over yet.

Actually my first vehicle was going to be an Acura Integra but bad stuff happened and I ended up buying my first Jimmy off of my friend's fiance...I never noticed how more on the mini size my Jimmy's were until my brother brought home his '04 Dodge Ram 2500 Heavy Duty..that thing is beastly. I could never drive huge pickups like that because I would reverse over some one's car and not notice lol I got three dogs, the big one likes to ride infront in my black Jimmy & the other two cry in the backseat because the big guy growls at them...and in my newer jimmy, every one gets put in the back behind the dog barrier..

That sucks, sounds like a blown head gasket. Yea explorerforum.com is by far the best explorer website out there, they have tons of information about everything, and if you ever need any help on fixing her I'll be gald to offer my services.
