This is my 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon. I bought it in June of 2008 and have done a small amount of work to get it to where it is now. The previous owner paid for the paint, window tint, and exhaust. He used to have 20" wire wheels on it until he bent one and decided to sell the car.
I bought it and started doing some work on it. To start, the radio's 12+ constant was completely dead, so I had to steal the 12+ constant from where the stock clock would have plugged into. I added new plug wires, spark plugs, and air filter along with an oil change. All of them were WAY overdue for replacing. After I replaced all these components the car idled much better and fuel efficiency also climbed. The front tie-rod ends were also shot from the stress of the 20" so I replaced those and had the front end aligned. I replaced the shocks at all 4 corners and now it no longer feels like a boat floating down the highway.
The engine itself runs very well, it starts right up everytime and idles like a champ. In the power department it is lacking fairly bad. I have pretty much the worst Olds 307 that was made with horrible flowing heads. The 4-speed automatic 200r-4 shifts greats, no complaints there. It has the 2:55 rear-end gears, which makes sense since it takes a slick road or gravel to ge the tires to spin.
It cruises 60 mph at 1500 rpms, and 75 around 1800. It usually nets around 18mpg's, high of 21 and a low of 14.
Body is very straight, no rust. Minor paint scratches, glass and chrome in great condition.
Thanks for checking out my ride.
