I ordered this 1972 Ford Gran Torino Sport on January 18th,1972,my 21st birthday, from salesman Frank Becker at Bo Beuckman Ford in Collinsville Illinois.I ordered the Rallye Equipment Group which included the Q Code 351C Cobra-Jet 4 barrel V-8,with 4 bolt mains, low compression(9 to 1)open chamber combustion chamber heads,4 speed transmission with Hurst Competition Plus shifter, stiffer springs and shocks, rear anti-sway bar and bigger front anti sway bar, full instrument gauges with tach,Firestone wide-ovals and traction-lok rearend with 3.50 to 1 gear ratio, the lowest ratio offered on the Torino.I also ordered white bucket seats, console, intermitent windshied wipers, rear window defroster, laser stripes, black top,and ram-air and the big alternator.I did NOT order power steering-power brakes-air conditioning-or radio as i did not want a hole in the front fender. The ram-air option was deleted by the factory as of January 1st 1972,so i bought it over the counter in May 1972.I picked up this car on Febuary 25th 1972.
