In 2008 I was finally in a position to go Motor racing, of the various one make series available in England, the Mk1 MR2 Racing series was the most cost effective.
Rather than build a car from scratch I decided to buy one that had raced previously, though a little battle scared it was a well sorted car
.
The plan was to do a few races, settle into the car, then aquire some panels and make it a little more presentable.
At the start of my second race at Mallory Park in England I was caught up in somebody elses accident and deposited in the Armco.
With the help of some of the other drivers we were able to pull the panels clear of the tyres and added some Tank Tape over sharp edges and went out for Race 2
Though the car was repairable I decided to reshell it into another car I had purchased.
As we had secured sponsorship in 2008 from Platinum Batteries, they requested the new car was Black to suit the Sponsor Graphics.
The remains of the old shell going to be scrapped
