This 2000 Maxima GLE was bought by its second owner in spring of 2008 with 85000 miles, and is now host to a few simple modifications.
In December a deer accident prompted some simple modifications. It will continue to be a work in progress, receiving generally more aftermarket parts than my '00 GXE.
Stock headlights were replaced with halo projectors, and the hood and bumper were replaced by Keystone components. The GLE 16's were replaced by 17x7. & 17.5x8 350Z rims, shod with 245/45R17 Fuzion HRi tires. A Megan Raccing catback has arrived after a long backorder and will be installed promptly. The stock suspension is in great condition but is accentuated by a front strut tower brace. Inside, the Bose head unit works great including the sub, the leather's in great condition, the seats are still supple, and all instruments/gauges work fine.
The future will bring Vogtland springs/KYB GR-2 stuts, a tint job, a spoiler, and a Stillen lip.
The rims have a 1/2" width difference, and this needed to be taken into account upon installation. Since the rear track of the Maxima is narrower than the front, the wider rims were installed on the rear, somewhat leveling out the track width. Furthermore, as the tires on all four corners are the same size, the possibility of the rim width difference appearing apparent and un-classy had to be considered. After installation and inspection it became apparent that this was not the case.
The tail lights will become smoked soon, as well.
