1965 VOLVO "CANADIAN"

In January of 2008, I moved into a new neighborhood. It just so happened that a fellow in the neighborhood had a car that caught my attention the moment I moved into the area, a 4dr 1965 Volvo "Canadian" 122, known also as an "Amazon" overseas. In passing on numerous occasions I told him that if he ever wanted to sell the car, let me know, I'd be interested in buying it.
December 2008
Last weekend the car's owner decided to move and with my offer to buy this car, came his decision to sell it. He had a desire to sell it to someone he knows would take care of her, and since he'd witnessed how meticulous I was with my other cars next door, we worked out a deal and with that, she became mine.
She'd been meticulously cared for by it's owners, only bettered over time. The guy he bought it from lived in Canada, and was a Volvo mechanic. That mechanic took care of this car and did some things to it to make it much more roadworthy for a car it's age, the exact specifics of each "modification" I do not know as of yet, but I will be getting a list soon from the prevous owner. Currently, this is it's state, of what I DO know, including as well things of my own doing indicated as "added", with a bit more to come:
Exterior:
- Newer resprayed Volvo No84 "Desert Sand" AKA "Golden Yellow" paint.
- Staggered offset, 17" x 7" w/ 205/50/17 tires & 17" x 8" AR Torqlite w/ 215/50/17 tires. (ADDED)
- OEM chome goodies still intact: fuel cap, chrome exhaust tip, chrome window trim, chrome door handles, chrome door mirror, chrome headlight and taillight bezels, etc.
- New OEM Volvo mudflaps. (ADDED)
- Clear H4 E-Codes.
Interior:
- All completely stock interior including OEM radio/speakers.
- Volvo "optional equipment" 122 dash-mounted tachometer. (ADDED)
- Start button to start (Volvo keys of this age are weak and have a tendancy to break off in the ignition tumbler, so a start button was added to avoid this mishap).
- Mechanical brake light switch (vs. brake pressure activated switch, more reliable). (ADDED)
Engine/Drivetrain:
- Rebuilt B20 engine w/ IPD Big Bore Kit and IPD Street Cam.
- Dual SU carbs.
- New custom exhaust.
- New fuel tank installed by Vol-Tech in Portland, OR.
Future Projects/Addons:
- New 123GT dash pad replacement (has parcel shelf)
- Interior paint touch-up.
- Repair or re-upholster front seats (rears seats look unused).
This car has basically everything I really want it to have right now. I just want to "perfect" them, such as rechroming parts, touching up paint and replacing door/window gaskets, etc...
