The Story
I had found this car on vehix searching for a first car. I was tired of looking at Cavaliers and Berettas, so I thought id just look at some of the Camaros in my area. I had always loved Camaros, and Chevys nonetheless, and never in my life thought that I would own a third gen, which happened to be my favorite. I was very surprised to find an ad for a 1990 Camaro RS with 56,000 on it. So I sent the guy an email, and he sent me pics. He originally wanted 2000 for it, and there was no way i was gonna give him that much for a car that needed all new paint, so I told him 1300, and he then said that some other guy was going to buy the car for 1300, caz thats all the money that he had. So I moved on. I looked at the next lowest priced Camaro that i could find, which was a gray 1990 RS with the L03 V8 in it, me and my uncle drove across state to find out that it was rust bucket, and needed in excess of 3000 in work. Money that I did not have. I then started my search online again, and by this time I wanted a Camaro. After trying cars, I went back to vehix, and saw that the red Camaro that needed a paint job was still listed. I immediately sent the guy an email and told him that i was willing to pay what he wanted for the car. He said he would take 1500 for it and it made my day. I realized that 3rd gen Camaros in good shape with no major problems like this one were in fact, incredibly hard to find. I called the guy later to tell him I would be coming to see the car soon, and he told me that he was going to get the headliner fixed, and according to him the muffler because it was bad. In a later conversation, he told me that if I fixed the headliner and the muffler, he would knock off 150 bucks from the price. I went and saw the car and fell in love with it. I bought it and picked it up the following week. I am so incredibly lucky that the guy who almost bought this car before me decided on an old Porshe. This car is rare. It is from 1990 which was the lowest production year ever for Camaros. It is a V6 which is even more rare for this year. It is bright red, which is one of the least produced colors for this year. And it is low miles and in good running condition, which only adds onto the list of things that make this car one of a kind.
