Nice Project rig you have and "Low" miles for an 86! I had the same problem with my rear window on my 88 4Runner. I took apart the tailgate and the bolt sensor (the one that is connected to one of the bolts on the driver's side that holds the hard top on, just behind the rollbar) and cleaned up all the electrical. The window worked just fine after that. Did you try both the center console switch and the key in the tailgate to roll down the window?
