Welp here we go again ! Another corolla..   This time i know what im doing !   ive been building my other corolla for over 5 years & been competing in autoX for 3 years with it... long story short id like to try drifting!    i had no intentions in buying a eight six just thought it be cool to own one... i was actually looking for a NEW car so i could get away from the old car scene & move into something im not tempted to put money into to make it faster.. welp i got sick of looking at new cars & thought it be fun to see if i could find any old corollas like mine...  & much to my surprise i found this Minnesotan Eight six !!  yea she sounded like alot of work But nothing i havnt tackled allready with my ae92... Ohh an it was a deal i couldnt pass up so why not !!  So here she is.. packed up for a drive home !

Great now she's home but she didnt run !!  so with the help from my old 4age from my ae92 i was then ready to see if she would start !polaris659's 1986 Toyota Corolla

With a running car i drove her to her final resting spot for her first winter with me !  This car was kinda a real mess... It like the Previous owner took the interior apart & put it all back together with one nut/bolt... so with my intensions being another track car i thought why mess with it, just get rid of it... so i got rid of anything & everything that wasnt needed... no more heater/blower motor... no more rear interior... no more sound deadning!!  (i couldnt beleive how much this crap wieghs) !!  anyways you get my point... in the pics below you will see that ive stripped the car & began patching all the rust holes & welded in LOTS of metal !!!  This car was Really rusty !! so some serious welding & strenghning was needed to be put back into this car !!

did i mention ALOT of welding !!!

anyways this week i have more time off & will begin cleaning/degreasing the whole car so i can POR-15 all the bare metal & get the interior ready for some new finish... im planning on buying white bedliner to coat the hatch since it wont be seeing carpet or anything else... This way it looks clean & wont scratch should i want to haul something in the back...

ive also ordered a few goodies that should be arriving soon !!

As one of the "previous owners" of this car, I just gotta say...none of it's issues were my fault! hehe I didn't have the time or the money to do what you're doing now Dan, but I'm sure glad you do! Every 86 owner will say, that if they can't handle the job, they want to make sure their car goes to someone who can. Yeah, shes a mess, but looking at this page, and continuing to talk with you, I know I sold this hachi to the right person. Can't wait to see the build as it progresses! See ya in the spring bro, and talk to you real soon! ~stay sideways~
