This is an 8 year old civic with D16Y8 stock engine, otherwise purely stock with 36K miles when I acquired from a dealership in Virginia, certified car though. This not-so-mean machine was supposed to be driven by my 16 y/o son who acquired his provisional license recently. Instead I let him drive my bimmer (330 ci) in the meantime while I try to gradually customize this baby.
This is the 2000 model Civic 2DR EX Coupe (US Version). This car is daily driven for 22 miles to and from my workplace 5 days a week. Since its acquisition I have spent some time, effort and a chunk of my savings into making this vehicle what it is today.
For you all Honda enthusiasts, especially to those die hard CIVIC fanatics who aren't embarrassed to dirty their hands working on their own cars, be it in your own backyard, driveway, in a dark garage or on the side of the street here's a red hot 5 stars for you all. Keep working on that mean machine and show off what you've done yourself. Be proud to say, "I did this myself".
For a start, to keep this pampered four seater running safe on the road, I outfitted it with Tokico Blue shocks coiled with Tenzo R GF2 lowering springs and a 17" Matte Black Tenzo R DC5 Version 2 wheels wrapped with 205/40/17 Falken ZIEX 912 UHP all season tires. Apart from the OEM sway bars for steady cornering and to lessen body roll I have perfectly torqued a 3 piece Front and Rear Upper Tenzo R strut bars so with a rear lower strut bar. The stock motor boosts an original 127hp with a topspeed of about 121 mph and is still untouched, however, it breaths through a Fujita5 race competition Cold Air Intake. It exhales to the Airmass Headers and Hi-flo cat and finally out from the Magnaflow Performance catback exhaust system. With the added performance mods I believe this car gained more or less 15-20 horsepower.
