2001 Sliverstone Honda S2000

I purchased this car back in February of 2007 in NYC when I was home on leave. At the time, the car was bone stock, except for an AEM short-ram intake from a civic that was cut to fit by some stupid ricer. The intake gave me horrible heat-soak and the car was noticeably down on power... Stupid ricer punks....

Here is a picture I took when I arrived in Arkansas.

The stupid intake had to go ASAP. As soon as I could, I sourced a stock airbox from a friend on S2ki.com and promptly installed it. I then modified the airbox to Spoon Sports' requirments (removing the "L" shaped tunnel on the lid of the box, as well as the air divider.) I then installed the Invidia 70mm Dual Cat-back Exhaust system. This system sounds amazing! Nice and deep, with none of that annoying fart-cannon muffler shop special sound. This is why real exhausts cost money!

I then took up an interest in auto-crossing. I view street racing extremely negatively, and I wanted to test the limits of my car. There are no full on road-courses nearby, so autocross was the only option. I started out in the novice category, running in A-stock.

After a few races and getting the hang of the quirks of an S2000, it became obvious that I needed some kind of adjustable suspension. As luck would have it, my stock shocks had had enough of the rough abuse of autocrossing and garbage roads and gave out on me. The stock S2000 suspension is amazing, so I wated to keep it as close to OEM as possible. I purchased a set of Koni Yellows with adjustable dampening. At the same time I picked up my new rims as well. The rims were a nice addition, lighter than stock and wider as well. They are Rota Slipstreams and fit my bill nicley, being not too expensive (that way I don't have to worry about any nicks or dings they get) and were wide enough to support the tire width I wanted. I also added a set of Hawk HPS brake pads, to give the brakes a bit more bite.

And so the car remained for quite some time as I was very satisfied with her performance. But then I began to want a bit more out of her, and so the next phase of mods began... Click to the next page for more!

my XXRs are 16/8 so im runnin 205/55s. the thinner tires spin out easier and they give an awesome stretched look. 195s look even cooler. if your on 15s, i would do maybe 195-205 by 55-60. thats just me.
