rocket_man_69's 1988 GMC 1500 Series

This is my 88 GMC 1500.  She's only got a 262 in it but it's 4 on the floor and she hauls real nice.  i bought the truck for $2500 (Which i'm pretty sure i overpaid by alot).  The one thing that sets this truck off from other trucks is the yellow and black.  There are a couple of rust spots that are coming through the paint.  When the truck was painted the rust was painted over and not prepped.  More work for me.  I hope within the next couple of months to put a sound system in it.  Something that you'll be able to hear from down the street.  My truck is already loud, it doesn't have a muffler (don't tell the cops lol). I just put a new set of BFG Radial T/A tires on.  275/55/15 in the back and 235/55/15 in the front.  The motor in it is nothing spectacular just a plain jane V6, but i can still squeal the tires 1st through 3rd. I hope to one day through a juiced up 350(That would be very fun in a 1500).  More pics to come with more updates!!!

Jan 23/09  Hey everyone.  SO my turck has been parked in my backyard for just under two months.  Yes i parked the truck.  I'm currently drivin a 95 neon with a blown out head gasket(Serves me right for parkin the truck).  SO i thought it would be a good idea to start the truck up the other day.  I shoveled all the snow off of her, which was alot!!!!! Did i mention that i hate winter!  I tried to start it and nothing.  My battery and starter are both toast.  But the really sad thing is that i can't even replace teh starter cause of all the snow:(  I now have to fix this neon and wait till spring to drive my truck.  The good news is I'm almost done paying it off which means my stereo is coming soon!!!!!!  I would put some more pics on but i can't find the camera so ya.

Feb 09/09  Hey Everyone.  Last week i did the unthinkable.... I pulled my truck out the backyard and am driving it now!!!!!!  I needed to put a new starter in it and a new battery.  So i took a little drive to napa and picked up a new starter and a optima battery.  The starter was a bit of a pain to put in cause the truck wasn't jacked up or anything,  but i managed to get it in.  She starts up like a charm.  I want to put some new pics on here but i still have to find my camera lol.  More pics to come in the future!!!!!!

Feb 14/09  Hi guys.  I brought my turck into my work to do some regular check up stuff.  The last little while my tuck tranny has been freezing up in the morning,  which is not fun to shift with lol.  I asked my boss why this might be happening and he said my tranny fliud is probably dirty and should be changed.  So i took his advice and changed out the tranny fliud.  The filler plug and the drain plug where stupidly tight and we needed to use the torch to heat them up so they would break loose.  AS soon as the drain plug came out the fluid was BLACK and i mean BLACK!!!!! so i put synthetic tranny fluid and figured while i was there i would change the rear end fluid.  60 dollars and 8 liters of synthetic oil and my truck shifts so smooth.  I'm really wanting to put more pics on but my camera is still lost.  I'm starting to get mad so i think that i'm just going to buy a new one!!!!  More updates to come soon.

Leave me feedback of what you think!!!!!!!

Keep it up and stay on top of it dude. They'll serve you better if you keep them up. Your on the right track. Nothing you can do about winter weather but prepare for it before it comes. Pictures are everything here. So when you get them on your ratings will rise. But, sometimes nothing is better than getting them fixed up and enjoying the benefits of your modifications. Good luck!
