NEW TIRE UPDATE:
Driving to my college today (12/8/08), I got out of my car upon arrival and noticed a flat. So i fix-a-flat'd my tire and went to a local tire shop. They pulled a nice piece of metal out of my tire. my options were either to buy a different brand tire from my current (Yokohama S-Drive) and to run like that for a few months, then replace all 4, or just go with all 4 new tires right away. my Yoko's were too small for my wheel well, so i decided to bite the bullet and get newer, bigger tires. My yokos were 215/40/R18, my new GoodYear Eagle Gt's are 225/45/R18. Im excited, though i wish i didnt have to replace all my tires.
here are some pics:
my old Yoko's 215/40/R18
The metal piece in my Yoko. about 2" long and .75" wide.
My new Gt's: 225/45/R18
My car on the lift:
Gross Rotors, need sanded and painted bad.
Installing:
Still on the lift:
On the ground:
I have to angle my fingers down to fit 2 in the rear, so its about a 1" gap. sitting about perfect for me.
There is under a 4 finger gap in the front, so its just under 2" approx.
These tires are pretty beast.
