(updated below first picture grouping)THE BATTERY IN MY TRUNK
I got a YellowTop Optima battery to power my system. My plans are to have it in my trunk under the floorboard. I'm also moving my amps from the back of my rear seats to under the floorboard. im going to fab a piece of wood under there around my battery to hold it. the wood will be carpeted, and the amps will be mounted to it. I will run some fans down there to cool the amps as well. eventually i will put blue LEDs down there and light it all up. I may even plaxiglass it one day to display all of it. I will have pictures of this project up soon. it will probably take a while.
today i got the piece of wood fabricated to fit tight and perfect to serve 2 purposes, 1) holding the battery down and 2) creating a new amp rack
here is a step by step of today:
this is my trunk with the battery and some dynamat...i ran out, it will be fully dynamatted when i get money for more.
i got a 24" by 48" piece of MDF 1/2" and measured it by the piece of wood that flattens the bottom of the trunk, and cut it to those specs best as i could.
next, i put it in and shaved the edges to fit in the bottom of the wheel well.
after cutting the edges, i measured and cut out for the battery to fit tight and mount down.
after shaving down the sides and getting it to fit into the bottom, i put a piece of tape upside down on the tire pin. this way it would stick to the wood and i could drill the hole in the right spot.
perfect fit! holds the battery down, and will serve as an amp rack.
next i dremeled out part of my trunk organizer to have easy access to the battery.
final product...
i hooked up the battery (0 gauge wire) and carpeted the wood. as far as moving the amps down to the rack, thats gonna take some fiberglassing and embedding, a little more work than i thought because i want a perfect fit. so for now, the amps are staying where they are. here are updated pics.

final product...for now...
