1995 Sunfire Sedan: Domestic tuner on a Budget...There's more than meets the eye...(Please Excuse Page Problems, Still Reworking this page).
Hi! My name is Dave and thanks for stopping by my page. I got this car in August 2008, all stock. The driver front door was smashed, the passenger rear door was rusted out from the inside out, the rear right quarter panel was rusted through, and 90 percent of the paint had clearcoat failure, turning it dull and rough. I started by building an entry-level sound system, and added red grilles. I liked the theme, and headed onward and upward. Unfortunately, I don't have much money, so I have less than 2000 dollars into the car over all INCLUDING THE PURCHASE PRICE. This is the ultimate budget show-build, so ask questions, leave comments, and enjoy.

MODS SOON TO BE:(for a more complete list see pg 2)
These are the mods that I really hope to get in soon. I want to clean up the front appearance of the car as bit more. Then, if money allows, lowering springs will help it handle a little better, and the LED underglow will be a fun party item. The 4X6's are a must, because I REALLY blew out my stock ones.
-Evil Eyes

-Lowering Springs
-LED Underglow
BODY WORK: The Paint job, The rust spots, and the doors.
The biggest patch went in smoothly, but slowly.
Brought home a cavy door, and learned how to fix child-proof windows.
The whole painting process. Before you ask, YES THE RED DOOR JAM GOT PAINTED BLACK TOO!!!!
New Vinyls-Went on really nicely thanks to Wilde Signs in Muskegon.
The Blacked out corners really clean this old girl up.
I got a free set of Window Decals with my line sleeving kit. You can also see the red line sleeving on my auto-adjust mirror. As far a sleeving kits go, an online store called Competition-Speed has the best stuff. They sent me more sleeving than I could possibly use, had free shipping, and included a free Decal set.

INTERIOR: Yes, I like Red and Black
The Neon was a pain in the butt to wire to a keyswitch, but that big ugly cig lighter adapter is gone now.
In Case you're wondering, Neither of the decks here are the one I'm using now. And that big cig lighter power adaptor is gone.
The teardown and rebuild of the interior went well over spring break, The most prominent repair made was the rusty old seat frames being removed, the carpet being steam-cleaned, and everything being put back together like new. There's nothing quite like finding unrecognizable objects in a Mickey-D's wrapper that you didn't put there...and the people you bought the car from didn't put it there either.
The seat covers aren't installed any more, they wore thin really fast so I might save them for shows. I don't really want to wear them out too fast, they were a gift from my girlfriend.
New Auto adjust anti-glare mirror. Wiring consealed behind the windsheild pillar cover.

Sound System: A Work in Progress, Bigger Build Coming Soon
In the glovebox lives a mini-amp/balancer combo that runs the front 4X6's. Alongside it is a bass remote for the Legacy amp in the trunk. I just sleeved all the amp wiring, really cleaning it up. The U.V. Reactive sleeving looks great with the blacklight I have as my trunk light. The Legacy amp I got free, I just had to fix a few dents and a bit of rust. My friend said it didn't work, but it just needed some TLC.
The rear 3-way 6X9s(from below) and my custom-built box(Yes, I build boxes). I need to tighten the fabric, but I had to turn in for the night and wanted to get it in. The 2 things in the top aren't ports, they're tweeters. I have two identical ones to install yet. Before anyone says that tweeters in a sub box will kill the amp, they're on a different amp.
Now I have a Sony Xplod CDX-GT 100Db+ deck. It's AMAZING. My gf helped me put this one in too, and she's helped me out with a few odd wiring things here and there too. Thanks :-)

New 4X6"s in the doors! Sony 4-way 140W max Xplods...Got a good deal on them too, at 30 bucks. They were a simple instal, I'm only disappointed that they are door speakers, cuz they go so well with the red and black interior.

Engine: Performance as Money Allows
They say to let what you have Breathe. I think a Flowmaster exhaust is big enough for a 2.2 to breathe well.
The Header looks SO much better black instead of rusted over. The rest of the accents give it flare, but not too much.
Can you see the difference Left to Right? Just got the new sleeving kit put on, it looks a ton better. Also cleaned up the engine bay a bit since the first pic. The Intake is an off-brand, but it works great, sounds amazing, and helps out the fuel economy(32 mpg when driven nicely).
Wheel/Tire: Budget Wheels on a Budget Build
What else can be said? It's an improvement. The chrome lip and accent lines look good in the sun, and anyway, I can't afford Enkei 20"s. Honestly, the biggest I plan on going when I get more money is 16". The rims I got for 35 bucks a peice, and they look great, and the tires I got for 50 for the set, practically new. The brakes add a nice subtle accent, and they were ugly factory grey. The car came with brand new brakes and lines, so I'm set there for a while.
COMMENTS AND QUESTIONS MORE THAN WELCOME :) HOWEVER, ANYONE WISHING TO RUB IT IN MY FACE THAT THEY HAVE NICER EQUIPMENT THAN ME IS WELCOME TO SEE IF THEY CAN BUILD A BETTER LOOKING, SOUNDING, AND RUNNING CAR ON THE SAME BUDGET. IF NOT THEY ARE POLITELY REQUESTED TO BRAG TO SOMEONE ELSE.
