77Phoenix’s Pontiac Phoenix
“Wild Thing”

    • Currently 3.1/5 Stars.

I'm an 18 year old car guy from Connecticut. I have had three third gen Camaros already. I went to the Marcus Dairy car show over the summer of 2002 and I saw a 1977 Pontiac Phoenix that I just had to have. I picked it up for $2,500 with 49,000 miles on an original 5.0L 305ci. It has front wheel disk brakes, rear drums, Holly Open Air 360 Intake, Edelbrock Series Valve Covers, Edelbrock Breathers, Dynomax Exhaust that never got installed becuase I chose open headers. The car doesn't have much right now, but I plan to do alot with it. It has a Grant GT steering wheel, sunpro tach, sunpro gauge pod, automatic tranny, and it's two door. The car has alot planned though. Krieger SS Rims, some nice fat tires, get rid of that tiny 305 for a 454 or so, 12 bolt posi rear, five speed manual tranny, custom dash, roll cage, window nets, cowl induction hood for now, possibly have a blower on the 454, all wheel disk brakes, lets just say this car will be worked over to no tomarrow. The car was in MINT shape when I got it but on February 15th 2003... some girls speeding in a 1994 Saab plowed into me.. I got $1,400 in damage.I was told to just get a 1977 Nova front end and fenders but I don't take too partial to the look of the 77 Nova front ends, love the Phoenix.. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET A RIGHT FENDER, FRONT END, FRONT BUMPER, AND FAN BLADE GAURD? PLUS THE MOLDING? I NEED TO FIX THIS BAD BOY UP! Much thanks and appreciation if anyone could help me find these needed parts, for now the poor car is put to shame, but it will always be my baby.

I bought a '77 Phoenix new as my first new car. I took the fender emblem and enlarged it to fill the hood and airbrushed it on the hood and cleared it. My smart a$$relatives decided to call it the "flaming chicken", but it was a sweet running comfortable car for many years and it went to a niece to get her through college. She traded it after graduating with 100K\= miles on it still running strong with its free breathing dual exhaust and no cat converter.

Looks great, interior looks new!! I owned a 1977 Phoenix in California, bought it brand new in 77 and had it for 12 yrs. I sold it to my brother in-law, but I think a few years later in their split, the car was sold to an auction. I had TA 60's with True spoke wheels, 4 quad jets. it was an awesome car.

I have a 77 Phoenix and you can use the Oldsmobile Omega front end . I rebuilt my Phoenix after a wreck and used an Omega hood and it fits perfectly. Plus the fan guard? Any Phoenix, Nova, Omega guard will fit. Plus the GTO of that era will as well. The header panel as well. Mine was a restored 1977 Limosein white with limo tinted windows Flawless Leather interior The engine is a beast It is a .030 over 350 CI with about 400 HP Turbo 350 transmission. BF Goodrich tires on American Mags. Lowered to the ground just a little. Just enough to make it look almost like a Low rider. Which in the South Bay ( San jose Ca area) is a plus.Less than 9 thousand on the rebuild. It was wrecked when an unlicensed driver plowed into my wife while she was driving it. I just finished getting it back on the road although it needs the hood painted it is close to being the BAD A$$ beauty it once was. Good luck rebuilding. There are parts out there just surf and search.
