Chrome In The Dome Car Show
Here are some highlights from my first ever car show appearance at "The Chrome In The Dome" held March 20 - 21, 2009 at the Idaho State University Holt Arena Minidome.

The car was celebrated March 19, 2009 on the front page in our local paper in a promotional piece to announce the show held 60 miles away in Pocatello, ID.

The show discussion featured a full 1/2 page photograph of my car. While they mispelled my name, and got the year wrong on the car, it was really cool that of all the cars they could have chosen, they featured mine.

The dash and interior looks brand spanking new. Many pointed out the comparison between the aluminum interior accents and the recessed dash cluster gauges of the newer premium Mustangs and the historical precidents set with this vintage car which preceded it.

Here is some perspective of the back of the car and interior cargo area...

...and a few more exterior shots of the front and right rear quarter panel.

Here's the front right and left corners of the car at the show.

And a view down each side of the car. It looked really hot!!!!

There wasn't a really clear class for the car since there were no other 1970s - 1990s Mustangs in the show, and for that matter only a couple other 1970s cars there at all, but it was very warmly received and about a dozen people at the show selected it as their favorite car for the entire display. Considering how hard it is to get parts for this era of Mustangs, as compared to other years, that is plenty enough reason for me right there.
I got dozens of comments on how few of these are seen at other shows around the country and how glad they were to see one again in such good condition. A considerable number of people even picked my car as their favorite in the show.... which said alot since there were so many nice vehicles. In summary, the car was a hit and definitely was a great conversation piece. It was a lot of fun and I can't wait to get it in another show next time.
While the other vintage Mustangs at the event were highly modified show cars that arrived on trailers and have rarely seen the road, I'd say it was probably the most truly original car of any of the other old mustangs at the show.
