1976 Mustang Cobra II Drive Train
The Mustang IIs have been remarkably difficult to maintain due to poor vender support from parts suppliers and the fact that its innovative front ends were way ahead of their time, making them a popular upgrade in 50 years of hot rods of earlier generations.

The car runs a bored .030 over 302 V8 with a 4V carb and nitrous. It doesn't have a blower, but if you look objectively at the specs, few details have been spared to make this a very solid engine. It does quite well and with such an engine in this small car makes for a exciting trip and lots of looks from car guys everywhere I go. I have had a number of people tell me its the best sounding small block Ford engine they have ever heard. Its a real understatement to say its great fun.

Here are closeup shots of the nitrous installation on the 4V performer RPM intake manifold. The car also runs power steering, power brakes, and a clutch fan. The factory smog control control is removed and there is a custom dual exhaust system connected to Dart Windsor heads. There has been a lot of work done to the engine underneath its exterior. For details check out the car's other site identified below.
The car came from the factory with this same engine. However, it has been modified considerably since then. It needs a good cleanup, but there has been some major upgrades to improve air flow, efficiency, and performance. Complete information on specifics of my build can be found at the following website:

It has a World Class T-5 Transmission five speed transmission with a 3:55 rear positive traction gear set. To support the extra power and performance, a set of Lakewood traction bars and suport braces from a 78 T-Top model have been added to reduce body flex as it puts its power to the road.
