A good friend of mine decided to get himself a Porsche 944 as a toy to play around with and for some reason the idea to get myself a toy never left my mind.
I have always been partial for classic cars and after research I found myself an affordable classic that would allow me to have fun, tinker and upgrade at will (wallet permitting), this was the MGB. I decided to go for a GT as the chassis is more rigged. I was lucky to find a one that was the color and model I was looking for. A black MGB GT from '69, which was blessed to have all the quirks of the earlier models addressed without the awful destruction that British Leyland brought unto the car in '75.

There was some work to be done, the first task being the breaks. I up-rated the front disks, replaced the calipers, the rear cylinders and shoes, the break lines (steel bradded) and the master cylinder. To top it of it is running with silicone fluid so I never need to worry about fade and brake failure after long periods of "rest".
Further mechanical modifications include up-rated shocks, new suspension bushes, engine mounts, hand brake cables, k&n air filters, high spark coil and leads, tuned twin SU carbs etc... These will soon be joined by a straight through stainless steel exhaust, up-rated front and rear springs and bushes, quick rack (steering), aloy radiator, electronic fan kit, stage 2 racing engine (approx 160bhp), widened 14 inch competition wire wheels and now I can't remember the rest of the list! lol so much to do!

Beside the endless list of mechanical modifications the exterior has recently gone a complete restoration (paint and chrome), recent pictures of the minor external modifications and paint can be seen below. Now that the exterior is complete the interior will be restored to original red leather specs from 1968 with red carpets etc, as the 1969 model only had black interiors. Of course all areas will be restored, dashboard, headlining etc.

The concept for this car is to look completely original and elegant, yet pack more of a punch then expected, hence the suspension changes, engine and drivetrain etc.
Hope to have more updates soon!
