To answer your question I made my own valve spring tool out of a PVC T connector screwed into a short metal pipe (slightly smaller than the valve) with holes cut on either side big enough to get my finger in and place the keepers while pushing down on the valve. Worked like a charm! I'd send you a pic of it but I don't have the tool anymore. I dropped a valve after driving mine for a couple of weeks, I just pulled the head, took it in and had the seat replaced at a head shop. Hope this helps. Did you redo the head along with a 3 angle valve grind when you rebuilt the engine, if not... good idea. Let me know how it works out for ya. Good luck!
