Lets start at the beginning....
This is what i started with, when i was 15
Looked fine from about 500ish feet back, at this angle
I wont lie, it came with the 350 but it needed work, this is a good pic of it.(i dont have the original flathead six, so please dont ask,) I want to put a Hemi in it, if you agree or not, please vote in my poll.
First step in building a street rod, oblitertate...Including the paint
Then start to repaint and rebuild, in that order. (That is up to debate, some people do it the other way around)
You can see my lil' tiny rear wheels and tires. They came with the car, i put some smoothies and bigger tires on when I got it running. That afternoon i went to the mopar show at Gilmore Car Muesem.(Mopars in the Red Barns)
Thats my grandpa's dakota. He put off his project to work on mine. We did all the work on mine in his garage, because i dont have a garage at my house. He plans to put a hopped up 350 in the dakota, already has the engine built, just never got around to putting it in. Maybe it will have its own page some day. (I'll make it for him, cuz he wouldnt do it himself). It is supposed to be like a NASCAR truck.
These are the four pieces of my two hoods, along with some other peices that are now blue.
I made a disc brake conversion up front and you can see my corvette booster and cylinder in this pic. Good ole' speedway, i ordered and paid for a black booster cuz it was alot cheaper. They sent me the shiny one I have on there now. Im not complaining. I would've replaced those rusty headers, but now that the car all together you cant see them anyway...
That is the original speedo. There is no way this thing went 100 mph with it's original flathead six. I am still using it, but it is a little off, 55 mph is 68 on the speedo
Last, but not least; drive around to all the car shows and show off, gloat alot, and then get bored and write it all down on an internet page one day. it has a 350 chevy V-8 pumping through a 400 turbo tranny to a (for now) 4:11 rear end out of a 57 chevy. All the suspension and steering components are orignal. Basicly: it accelerates fast, will stop fast, but wont turn very well, and doesnt like bumps. It has the turn radius of a dump truck, due to the disc brakes getting in the way of the control arm. Seriously, my step-dad's dodge ram 2500 diesel turns better and is easier to park. But ive gotten used to parking and driving it, and i wouldnt give it up for all the money in the world. By the way, I'm now seventeen.
The fun doesnt stop here! Check out page 2 for more recent pics and stories! Or page 3 for the history lesson.(I wont blame you if you dont)
These are just some random cell pics, enjoy
Kinda like a before and after picture, ain't it?
Do you like the whitewalls? It was tire cleaning foam, i think it looked fine, but i already have black tires.
Very first show (mopars at the red barns)I found this guy(wish i could remember his name) with a very-stock 38 plymouth coupe. I have seen him around at other shows. If you see him tell him Im looking for him.
NSRA Nats North registration. If you were there you know the registration was the only dry day, it rained every other day.
Otsego car show. Got to watch the parade from my car. It was 100 degrees out. I felt bad for the marching band, i used to be in one myself, and those suits are hot!.
"Cruzin the gut" in battle creek.
I live right next to gilmore car meusem and they have a cruize-in every wendsday. I am at every one i can go to. I practicly live there.
I was playing with the effects on the camera. Blue car orange trees (it was fall) became orange car blue trees. I will never paint it orange.
Do you have any idea how boring it can be working at a grocery store? You end up with stuff like this.
Photo shot to get a good cell phone background. actually climbed the tree in front of my house.
My easter basket was my old rear rim. Awesome!
