MONDEO ST24 2.5, V6, 24 VALVE
The cars had nothing done to it,and the paint work is spot on,Its completely standard I pay'd just under £3000 for it,It was apparrently owned by a manager of polar ford,Its been serviced every 6 month ish,doesnt need any work doing as far as Ive been told(which
doesnt count for much really).also it goes like a bullet.only problem is one of the foglight surrounds was missing when i got it,its only about a tenner to buy another one,but apart from that its spot on.
The ride can be a bit harsh sometimes to say its suposed to be a family saloon,but both of the ST(ST24 and ST200) models have sports suspension.The car handles a lot better then I expected it to as i normally drive Japanese sports cars,but suprisingly this is on a level with most jap cars ive had,The car accelerates very well and just seems to rev for years,it will easily reach 65mph-70mph in second gear.Apparently they will do 150mph,which im not going to say i know is true,because i dont,But i do know that it will definatley do 135ish mph because ive done it(on a track day,with insurance,done legally-obviously) I couldnt get it much past 135 because i needed to change my boxers and couldnt concentrate.LOL. I like this car as i think its a wolf in sheeps clothing or a sleeper as some ppl call it,because after all its just a mondeo with a bodykit and different alloys.so it doesnt really stand out from the crowd,but this car will keep up with most impreza's,Fto's,Seat leon cupras,Bmw 325's,and will slaughter most mr2's (apart from the tuned up turbo's)
Although it has been chipped i would like to buy a K+N induction kit and a though pipe and new back box to squeeze a few more horses out of the old ST.And maybe get it dropped 40mm.Im defo gona keep the body and the alloys stock because im fed up of being pulled by the coppers all the time,thats why i bought something a bit more normal looking than my other cars,the lexus soarer is the worst for being pulled in because you hardly ever see them round here.
BULLETIN ~ New discs and pads all round for an ST24 cost approximately £370,trust me on this one,Also Im having some trouble with with the air intake system making some noise,(apparently its a common fault and its called moosing) apparently it happen often on ST24 V6 engines.It doesnt affect the performance in any way or do any damage to the car its just annoying as hell,usually a quick punt of the accelerator normally sorts it out. Number 3 problem is that the water for the windscreen wiper hardly ever work because theres no power in the jets,This annoys the hell out of me.Still never mind.
I managed to get a front drivers side fog light from ebay for around £13,nothing really and bought the paint for £10 and painted and fitted it myself,which took around 30 minutes.Think i might paint the brake callipers red when i eventually get round to it,and maybe buy some more number plates off the internet as the origional ones are getting a bit shabby
