1988 Cougar fould on ebay it was local so we went to take a look.
picture of the car before we bought it
It only had one owner so we ran a carfax, and there were no faults found with the title or been in any accidents
purchased locally in June 2008 with 150k miles for $2000
since then i have added:
a 88 mustang high output engine-$1000
completly rebuilt trannsmission by Bob Howards trans. shop-$1300
hooker super comp headers from ebay-$120(a deal)
vortech S-trim supercharger from ebay-$1500(1/2 the cost of new)
Ford racing valve covers from S&K Speed-$160
special vortech intake plaque of ebay-$25
total so far: $6105
Engine before I bought it,when i got it home i washed it with heavy degreaser and a pressure washer
then after negoiating with my parents we decided that it would be safer to drive if we had put in a salvage engine(the original engine was leaking ALOT! of oil). After locating a engine from a mustang with less milage in a salvage yard in Lindenhurst,NY we bought it for $500. before it was installed we had it steamed to reove all the dirt and grime that had built up over all the years.then the shop next to the salvage yard installed it for $500 and she was running like new.
