cbotd's 1968 Triumph Spitfire

10/24/08 Just purchased 1968 MK3.

With only two weeks before my second son is due I jumped on the chance to snag this '68 Spitfire to replace my motorcycles. It is a non-concourse Triumph that is in very good mechanical shape and has a solid rust-free (as much as any these days) body.

To answer the question I'm always asked first - The hood bump is where the previous owner put a free flow mushroom filter on top of a single Carter carb. The bump is where the filter sits under the hood (bonnet). I think it is very unique and is always asked about.

More work to come after the new baby is home and safe.

real nice spit you got there i might need to get an older one sometime they look sweet. as for the brakes they were easy to redo i didn't change wheel bearings so no need to pull the hub. thats the part they say is a pain in arse.
