The clutch in the XR7 is hydrulic so I saved the master, made the mount so it sat at the

same angle as the stock clutch pushrod, shortened the pushrod and it works great!

making the pan fit was really quite simple. I mounted the motor without the pan and

measured to the panrail and belhousing the location and movement of the drag link.

Transferred the measurents to the pan and cut holes. Made a tube from sheet aluminum

and checked fit and welded it up.

To make the oil pick-up fit, I took some plate steel and transferred the front oil pan mount holes and pickup tube to block mount holes to it, then bolted the plate to the pan which gave me the tube mount to block location in the pan. On these motors the oil  pump is in the timing cover not the bolted to the block in the oil pan. Then cut up the pickup, I needed more bends so I went to the scrapyard for another pickup. I just put an 1/8 piece of aluminum on the floor of the pan set the pickup there and built to it with the tubing. It needed a brace to one of the mainbearings ,,, check for crank clearence ,,done.

I used the stock exhaust manifolds to get a pattern for the header flanges, cut with a torch,

ground them clean and started trying pieces of tube till one looked good and cleared

everything. I just cut the 4th tube off the collector, pie cut, heated, shaped and welded it closed.

The goal wasn't perfect headers, just make it work!

The little hammer in the above pic was used lots back in my demo derby days, now I keep

it along with a piece of railroad track handy to release frustration!lol

The test leads are tucked up under the dash and pull down for access.

I must point out that this is only the initial build. Once i figure out and install the air conditioning,

( I have a stock underdash unit to mate to the V6 pump) I will disassemble and detail underhood.

If the 64 that I owned looked like yours, I would still own it. One hell of a car.
