2000 PORSCHE BOXSTER S

00BoxsterS's 2000 Porsche Boxster   00BoxsterS's 2000 Porsche Boxster

Here's my 2000 Boxster S with a Gemballa body kit, suspension mods, and a few carbon fiber bits.  Stock the Boxster S is pretty awesome already with a mid-engine layout, 250 HP 3.2L 6 cylinder boxer engine with 11:1 compression ratio, dry sump oil system, 6 speed transmission, Brembo brakes from the Carrera, speed activated spoiler, and a very nice leather interior.

When modifying the car from stock my goal was to first get to know the car.  So for the first two years of ownership I did NOTHING, leaving the car 100% bone stock, same as when I bought it.  Then last year I started adding a few mods here and there to the car to just make it look nicer.  It just kind of cascaded from a few mods to a full body kit.  Then I started on the suspension and upgraded it extensively.  So far no engine mods though other than a K&N intake filter and an exhaust.  The Porsche 3.2 liter engines are pretty fickle and if you want reliability and long life out of them it’s best to just be content with the 250 HP that’s on tap.  Maybe in the future I'll swap in the 3.4 liter 300 HP engine from the Porsche 996.

Here are a few pictures of the car as it stood this last May before suspension mods and the addition of carbon fiber mirror housings.

My God your Boxster is one of the best I've ever seen! Looks like you've put a ton of time and effort into it and it turned out great. Easy 5 star! I'd give more if I could!

i like the set up, it clean. i have the same side skirts but never installed them. My ride is way too low. i tried them on one day and got written up by a rental cop for only having 1" of round clearance. What an ass hole. 5 stars. check mine out tell me what you think.

Hey boss, can't stop running into you. 986forum been kind of quiet lately, can't find any interesting topics lately on there to better my ride. Getting a Fiberwerks GTR bumper and their GT3 RS rockers soon, I think you will dig it. It's pretty aggressive looking and will definitely change the look of my ride for the better, pretty excited. I should have it within the next few weeks so I will post some pics soon. Love to have the rear bumper you got too, although the Gemballa rear bumpers don't come cheap enough for my blood so that may not be on the Christmas wish list. For now, I'm pretty cool with the rear stock bumper with the added rear diffuser. Catch you on the flip.
