Stealthgnome's 1968 Mercury Monterey

Stealthgnome's 1968 Mercury Monterey

just bought this gem from my grandpa, it has a 390ci FE engine with a 2-barrel carb.

It's a two ton sled but I love it.

Well, I finally got enough ambition to continue working on this page.

UPDATE: The monterey was a great daily driver for a few months, but like every other car I've owned, I became bored with it, so instead of selling it, I bought a cheap car to drive while I made some modifications to the monterey. So far I've ditched the old 2bbl carb and manifold for a 4bbl carb and manifold. I plan on redoing the exhaust next, which will be kept short, simple, and loud, with headers and purple hornies.

Paint those wheels gloss black, put some fat white letter tires on there, and you'd have the look to go with that new exhaust! Nice car your grandpa sold you.
