IN THE BEGINING:

So after years of regret I finnaly bought another 240...sedan this time.  I'm a little late in starting a cardomain page for it so I just thought I'd bring the project up to speed here.

here she is

nice and shiney eh?  I live in Minnesota so finding one of these virtually rust free was no small task.  I went and test drove 23 bricks in 3 months and finnally landed on this one 300 miles away in Wisconsin.

She's clean folks.  Not only clean but apparently slightly tuned (for towing a small trailer but I digress).  I was hanging up the exhaust with some wire because the rubber hangers were missing and loe and behold

IPD sway bars on both the front and back!.......and the realization that I'll be needing a new exhaust well before the V8 converssion....lol.

It's a '91....so there are/were a few things wrong with it.  To start with, I had to repack both front hubs, rehang the exhaust, tear out that anoying heat shield that rattles on every single 240 in existance, COMPLETE brake job...they were so bad it was almost criminal. and fix the tail lights.  Some previous owner genious decided that instead of fixing the bulb sockets he/she was going to re-wire them.

no color coordination, crappy aftermarket bulb sockets and way to many grounding wires.  Funny story, I got pulled over at 2 in the morning after a rough night of partying because of a "flickering tail light."  luckily, i'd stopped "partying" hours before so I was let off with a warning.....BUT, a little pee in my pants was none the less involved after the incident and it prompted me to buy new tails.

Now, I searched and searched but could NOT locate the connector for this wire harness....so I did a little creative soldering and now I shant be pulled over again.

Couple other particulars before I send you on to the next page.  I hate Volvo wheel covers.  They're the most unimaginative pieces of aesthetic crap ever. so I repainted the steelies black and put my old chrome rings on.

Vast improvment IMO

I also added my old 240 roof rack system because lets face it....what's a 240 with out skis or a bike on the top of it....right?

I just made that ski rack attatchment and it works great.  Why buy a $150 accesory when you can build a lower profile clone for $12?
