I would say that it was one of my luckiest day finding this great ride! Well, it was really a surprise since this car was owned by of of the CarDomain member and I was planning to hunt a number of original parts for my Cressida. You can check this car on the same spot for 1979 Cressida's and just check the upgrades that he made for this sweet ride. A great guy and now a good friend of mine. Thanks again Francis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, here's the handover of the keys and the toy, Francis on the left and me ..very happy!
I just arrived from the airport and went straight to meet Francis and he's toy (well, it's my toy now hehehe!)
The first drive is sweeet! I just couldn't believe how this car handles especially the power steering...ooohh I've been longing to get one for my first Cressida. Everything is soft & light that's why I compared driving this Cressida with my parents Honda Civic VTi.... of course.. the engine is more powerful than the stock Civic (despite the old 18R engine matched with 5-speed manual trans ooohh!!!)
The first stop is to top up her tank. It's almost empty and a good start for me to have an idea on her fuel consumption. I fill her up with 10 liters of premium gasoline. I'm not sure how far is my place but I already caught in the morning rush hour traffic. I even thought that the fuel is not enough but then, I was surprised that after half hour of driving with heavy traffic and sudden acceleration and with the aircon running. The fuel indicator needle barely moves! I really have some doubts on the indicator. Because it has the same engine as with my other Cressida and from my experience. Just after 20 mins of driving, I can clearly see the travel of the fuel indicator needle. I reached home after an hour and a half of driving. So, for the fuel consumption???... the needle moves only 1/3 of its mark!!! This was amazing, and I think it is also because of the Khaos Turbo device that was installed by Francis which helps a lot in saving those precious fuel! AWESOME!!!!
The first stop for fuel, Francis was so generous that he even gave me her old original shoes complete with original rare toyota stainless center caps (Hard to find now :-)
Below are some shots that I took, enjoy :-)
Sorry for those poles!! I installed my other Cressida's shoes.. and there it is! nothing much!
Under the bright lights of the shopping mall near my place. I love this car a lot so I left my wife and baby inside to guard her while I'm shopping! Hehehe! Just a joke!.. She had an alarm anyway.
On my other Cressida, I make some hole to fit an after market rear side marker lamp way down below the rear fender.
The headlights are'nt turned on yet... My night driving nightmares are over.. Thanks again to francis for installing those super bright H4 headlamps!!!!
The interior.. since 1979!
There she is the night before I leave, infront of one of the best shops in Las Pinas City that restores exotic and classic cars.
I forgot to take some shots of what's behind those gate! A very rare vintage owned by Boss Jimmy (the friendly shop owner), a mini cooper owned by Boss Jimmy's son ( lucky kid!!! Yeah he's still a kid!!) and theres a lot more inside the other garage opposite the building.
Hopefully, the Cressida will be finished by mid of December. Oooh hopefully!! I couldn't wait anymore!
And the new body color??? I'll keep it a secret for now.. in a meantime, I need to skip breakfast, some snacks and take a 15 mins walk going back to my place rather than taking the bus to save some bucks!
Again, Thanks a million to you Francis!!! Hulog ka ng langit!! :-)
Special thanks also to my sister & my friend for accompanying me to meet Francis and his precious Cressida :-+
Thanks a lot for looking, fellow CarDomainers!!
I'll post some more pics soon.
