Ajeeper's 2003 Ford Expedition

This is the truck I wish I still had for sure.. This is a Rare 2003 Ford Expedition FX4 4X4 5.4L Yes they made an FX4 Expedition but only one year. They were offered in limited colors (6 I believe)

This truck had Pro Rotor Drilled and Slotted Rotors, Full aluminum upper and lower control arms. Rancho Struts and Shocks.  K&N Filter Good year Wrangler with there silent armor technoligy. one of the cooler freatures of this truck is it had a 2WD - 4WDL - 4WDH and 4AWD setting The 4AWD setting was great for winter trips through the mountains and up north. Basically the truck stuck like Glue to any slippery Road surface you could throw at it... We took it to Michigan one winter in one of the worst snow storms I had ever seen. From about Nashville through most of Kentucky, I thought we were the only ones on I-65 north for most of the time..

Now for the sad part... This is what happens when your sitting at an intersection at night that has a curve and a F350 Dually comes around the corner too fast..  unknown to me at the time, Ford has a very serious Impact bar at the front of this truck which can save you from some serious injury. You can see this bar at the lower front nose of the truck.. This impact bar point blank saved us from some serious injurys.. The Dually? Well the impact bar ripped the axle from the truck and bent the frame in a serious way..  Totalled the truck.

The Expedition spent about 6-7 weeks in the body shop to the tune of about $13,000 worth of repair. The body shop had a hard time getting everything to align back up and after the second attemp to pick it up at the body shop, I came to the conclusion it was as good as it was going to get based on the circumstances.. We only kept the truck about a year or so after this incident but the truck left a good impression on me. We looked at newer modes but they just didnt have the look or the feel this FX4 version did
