I brought home my 71 Chevelle 10/20/08 and I call it Da Monsta. I took it straight to the body shop and had it painted. I decided to go with Jet Black with Silver stripes because I have not seen to many Chevelles with that color scheme and I didn't want my Chevelle to look like every other Chevelle out there. Everything on the exterior was replaced with brand new parts. I decided to be differnt with my rims and not go with the stanard 15" muscle car look. I went with 20" BZO Hummers insted to match my color scheme. I also had my interior redone with a interior kit from Ground Up. I then had my alarm and sound system installed. I had a custom back deck panel made that houses 4 Polk Momo 6x9 and 2 custom made fiberglass kick panels that house Polk Momo 6 1/2" and 2 4x6 Infinity Reference in the dash and 1 15" JL Audio W3 subwoofer which is all powered by a Boston GT-50 5 Channel Amp and ran by a Kenwood In Dash DVD Player. I went with the Viper 5900 alarm system with pop lock acuators for automatic door locks. I went with CPP 13" Big Disc Brake Kit up front and 12" in the back. These brakes made a HUGE differnece coming from Drums all the way around. I then had a custom built 383 Stroker Engine which dynoed at 446.2 hp and 463.4 ft/lb built by T and L Engine in North Carolina installed in June 09. I had a custom built 350 Turbo transmission from Exner Transmissions because I knew that 383 would eat and spit out the tranny that was in there. Once I had the engine and transmission installed I knew it was time for the rear end to go. It had an open 2.56 which was good for gas but when you have an engine like that gas is not one of your concerns. So I had a rear end rebuilt with Auburn 3.73 posi unit. This was one of those upgrades that just makes a huge differnce. I would like to thank Mainstream Paint and Body in Perland Texas for an outstanding job on the paint and Unique Sounds in Houston for a great job on the sound system and alarm and Tire Wheel and Master on the rims Car Tech for the motor and transmission installation, Specialtiy Metal Craft for the installation of the brakes and rear end. Please tell me what you think and dont forget to Vote. Thanks to all those who voted and helped me get my 2nd Show Off of The Week. Keep an eye out for my next project a 69 Camaro named Project Punisher coming late 2009.
