straight through exhaust...... ssshhh.............
it only made sense to me that since the Aurora was designed by David North, the same infamous designer of the Toronado, that it should have Toronado exhaust tips.
oem pipe is 2.25" so i WENT UP a modest .25" ON MY PIPE SIZE, Cleared the cat, dual 2.5"X24" glass packs heat treated/coated with 1200 DEG high temp enamel blue to match the rest of the blue stuff. I just got these painted today. i left the resonator on for now, it just changes the sound, no performance is gained by straightpiping there. by keeping it on it really differentiates my car sound from a farm truck,by a more exotic note. EXHAUST IS FINISHED & SOUNDS MEAN, purrs like a WS6 T/A.

blue STREETGLO pinstripes = standing out from the crowd.

by day they look like normal pin stripes.
they are actually a wide blue with a thin white down the middle for that dual stripe effect.
The mustangs have their 5.0 and most custom auroras have 4.0 here but i wanted to be more unique. half the people who ask what is 244, already know the answer before i can tell them. besides its 442 backwards, cool and coincidence!

i run with the engine cover removed. i have customised it too. i had it chrome painted and striped with the same streetglo. i may put it on for a car show, but running with the cover off is better for the engine and performance. the cover is a fire protection and noise buffer but why hide those beautiful wires and AMERICAN V8 sound? i choose to run cooler that's why i'm cool.
the 4.0 has a glass 4.6 intake manifold to dispose of heat quickly. i also pulled the fire and noise insulation off the hood. the aurora hood is aluminum with special noise dampening egg carton shaped cones fabricated into it already. FACT: this special hood alone will total an aurora with any insurance claim if heavily damaged. i also pulled the over radiator rain guard/ dust flap off. It is only there to keep rain water and dirt out really. big deal, it was blocking cold air from coming in and pass over the radiator and intake. last but not least i have heat shield products cold air intake kit which dropped the aluminum elbow and incoming air temp tremendously. the inverted end of the cone is positioned on top of the factory inner fender air hole.
recap 1. engine cover delete, 2. rain guard delete, 3. hood insulation delete, 4. TRUE COLD AIR INTAKE WITH HEAT SHIELDING = average running engine temps 15 degrees cooler. i see 10-20 drop on my temp gauge since all these mods and throttle response is better.
I KNOW I AM GONNA STEP ON SOME TOES BUT HALF OF THE AURORA OWNERS ON HERE ARE MAKING IMPOSSIBLE CLAIMS AS FAR AS PERFORMANCE GOES. A TINY WARM AIR INTAKE AND A SET OF FLOWMASTERS DOES NOT MAKE YOUR AURORA OVER 300 HP NOR IS ANYONE ON HERE RUNNING 13-14 SECOND 1/4 MILES IN AN AURORA. LETS BE HONEST, NO ONE HAS AN AURORA CAPABLE OF 170 PLUS MPH EITHER AND I DONT CARE IF YOU HAVE A 4.6 OR NOT THATS JUST RIDICULOUS. AND SUB 7 SECOND 0-60 TIMES IS ALSO TOTAL CRAP!! COME ON GUYS YOU GIVE AURORA ENTHUISIAS TS A BAD RAP. I'D LIKE TO SEE EVEN HALF OF THE TUNED OUT AURORAS ON HERE GET A SECOND GEAR SCRATCH ALONE! HOW BOUT POSTING SOME VIDEOS OF TIMES INSTEAD OF MAKING SUCH FANTASTICAL CLAIMS!!! A NEAR PERFECTLY TUNED 4.0 IS GOOD FOR 300 HP & 300 FT. LB. TORQUE THATS IT! AND YOUR NOT GOING TO ACHIEVE THAT WITH A PERFORMANCE CHIP. THOSE ARE JUST A RESISTOR THAT FOOL THE ECU INTO THINKING ITS COLD OUTSIDE. EVEN READING THE EXPLANATION OF THOSE UNIT S YOU WILL SEE THAT IT ONLY LETS THE ENGINE RUN TO ITS HIGHEST POTENTIAL WHICH IS 250 HP. @ 5600 RPM, 260 FT LB TORQUE@ 4400 RPM. YOU CANT GET MORE OUT OF IT BY ADDING A CHIP BC THATS ITS MAX POTENTIAL PERIOD. WE CAN ALL JUST UNPLUG THE IAT SENSOR AND GET THE SAME THING, ITS FREE. TO REALLY BOOST POWER WITH THIS PARTICULAIR NORTHSTAR - GET THE 75 MM TB BORED TO 80 MM , USE 2ND GEN AUROR A 4.0 INJECTORS (+10 PSI OVER 95 - 99 MODELS), 3" TRUE COLD AIR INTAKE AND FULL 3" CAT BACK PERFORMANCE EXHAUST, PORT AND POLISH THE HEADS, HONE & EXTRUDE THE BLOCK, INTAKE AND EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. I'M TALKING A FULL BALANCE AND BLUEPRINT THEN YOU WILL HAVE A PERFECT 300 HP & 300 FT LB TORQUE. EVENSO 0-60 TIMES WILL BE 7.5 SEC. 1/4 MILE 15.0 @ 95 MPH THE 249 SPECIALLY MADE SHELBY AURORA MOTORS ONLY PRODUCE 320 HP WITH SPECIAL ECM THAT NO ONE ELSE HAS DONE. WESTERS GARAGE CAN DO SOME MINOR TWEEKS LIKE SHIFT POINTS, CHANGE SPARK MAP, COOLING FANS, ETC. COME ON PEOPLE!
blue interior lighting includes overhead map lights, glove box, center console, grab bars and foot wells. blue neon tubes under the seat & dash coming eventually.

like most classic auroras there were worn places in the paint on some of the interior componrents. by repainting them with special plastic paint i was able to restore most of it, however i didn't stop there. i made it with a 3 TONE STEERING WHEEL & CUP HOLDERS the colors were all hand picked to match the existing colors, however the face of the cupholders are light gold as are the areas around the steering wheel buttons. this way i achieved restoration and customization at the same time : )

THIS OIL CAP IS F RO M A 2006 P ONTIAC GTO. I MODIFIED THE LIP TO MAKE IT FIT THEN PUT AN OLDSMOBILE KEYCHAIN ON IT ONCE I CUT IT DOWN AS WELL. BELOW YOU CAN SEE A CHROME P/S LID I ALSO MODIFIED THE DIPSTICK TO FIT FROM A 2001 GMC TRUCK. THATS WHAT CUSTOMIZING IS ALL ABOUT, TAKING PARTS FROM ONE VEHICLE AND MODIFING THEM TO WORK ON ANOTHER VEHICLE.

compare the size from the cone that comes with the tube off ebay, the one most guys here are running. you notice its tiny in comparisson and not even inverted, that's because this one is like having a Holley 900, b/c it's 900 CFM!

latest mod 10/02/09 clear marker lights. clear corners lenses take 2 pair of side lights or the way i went. my buddy made these using light fixture glass. one half looks like the belly side of a shed snake skin. the other half which fixture glass looks like the other side of the snake skin. otherwise the other lense is used to look perhaps more factory and belly side all thge way across.
