The Shelby GT was offered only as a coupe, and only in two exterior colors, Performance White or Black. Both colors are accented by silver Le Mans-style racing stripes — a signature detail of classic Shelby Mustangs.

The 2007 Shelby GT Mustang was limited to 5362 assuring its exclusivity like all Shelby Mustangs. There were 2260 Performance White, and 3372 Black cars produced. Only 999 have automatic transmissions.

The 2007 Shelby GT Mustang includes the Ford Racing Powerpack; consisting of a 90mm cold-air intake system and more aggressive calibrated engine tune mandating the use of premium fuel. Ford Racing performance mufflers and an X-pipe, replace the standard H-shaped crossover, Last, the entire rear-end is swapped for a new unit carrying a 3.55:1 differential ratio; completing the power train modifications.

Ford Racing provides new struts and shocks, which reduce the ride height about an inch and a half. Stiffer anti-roll bars improve body control and make for flatter cornering. A race-inspired twin-tube strut tower base increases chassis rigidity in the engine bay and sharpens up steering response. 235/55ZR18 high-performance tires maximize the benefits of the chassis upgrades

Things are standard GT fare inside, with a little Shelby jewelry added. All interiors will be black, and Shelby modifications consist of machined-aluminum sill plate badges, Shelby GT floor mats, and an aluminum number plate on the I.P. that proclaims the car to be officially produced by Shelby Automobiles and its Shelby serial number. The Shelby GT sports a stubby Hurst shifter wearing a white shift knob that looks right out of the 1960s.
