subaruprorally, in some sense your right but finding a 2.2L motor from a 22B is hard to come by... i know that you can bore out your engine to be a 2.2L... but this is what you got to have $$$$$$. if you could do it yourself, go for it! but, personally i am not a rich person, i'll get what i can get.

old_duwel is an idiot. The 2.2L turbo engine is an STi designed engine and is one of the strongest blocks ever created by Subaru. Why swap with a 2.0L STi block when you can build a 22B grade 2.2L monster?
