Here's some new photos taken in May, 2003. The first photo shows the relocation of the Kenwood AM/FM/CD/MP3 player into the dash.

I took this step as I am starting work on refitting the interior with four bucket seats. I have already scored a set of 1966 Rogue bucket seats and am looking for a fold-down rear seat from a 64-69 American station wagon that I can section into two individual seats that will fold down, as on the 66-67 Dodge Charger. A full length center console, running from under the dash to the rear bulkhed is next on my agenda and I hope to have all of the interior upgrades completed by the end of the summer.
Below are a variety of exterior shots taken this month, the first was taken after sundown as I was experimenting with a new location using a combination of fill flash from my Nikon 5000's built-in flash and an overhead security light, which provides the orange relection in the car.

I show the Rogue pretty much every weekend and it won its first trophy at the Inland MOPARs show in Riverside, as best under construction entry. This I think was quite a surprise for the traditional MOPAR guys, many of whom don't accept AMC vehicles as true MOPARs. In addition to my Rogue, there were three other AMCs, all AMXs, at this show.

Below is a shot taken early in May, at the weekly Friday night Garden Grove show, where they block off Main Street and usually attract 150 or more cars.

Another interesting, informal show, is held each Saturday morning at a strip mall just north of the Crystal Cove State Park right along the PCH. This has become the "in place" to be on Saturday mornings as people now arrive before sunrise to stake out a place. Street rods mix with muscle cars and exotics as you'll see everything from just built street rods to million dollar Ferraris from the sixties. My Rogue fits right in (yeah, right!).

Driving home from Crystal Cove I saw something strange gassing up at the Union 76 station in Corona del Mar in Newport Beach.

Yes, that's one of the four original Batmobile replicas, built back in 1966, for promotional appearances. You can learn more about it at:

The next update will show the installation of the Holley 4-barrel carb, which has improved starting the car when cold and overall driveability. It pointed out the fact that the fuel pump was shot and I've replaced that as well and will get the car back on June 3 and will be able to give some impressions on how much quicker the Rogue has become. I'm going to start deatiling the engine compartment over the next few weeks, in an effort to make a better presentation at local shows.
