My dad bought this Vega about 12 years ago we took it to the strip a few times but mostly just ran it on the streets and highways in small time Ohio. It had been sitting for several years when he decided to let me have it. It was built in 1986 and was in Popular Hot Rodding. I'm slowly refreshing it and want to get it back to show condition. It's going to take awhile because I can't throw as much money at it as I'd like to right now.

The car is fully framed and tubbed and can handle a bigger engine, I'd love to drop in a 383 stocker, airshifter and all the other goodies to get down to around 10sec 1/4 miles. The car has lots of chrome to include the driveshaft . I want to repaint the car two tone red and black, it'll all happen in good time.

Sorry haven't updated this page in a while. I've done some work since I've had the car but I've been busy a work. I've done alot of rewiring after a small fire, got rid of the old amp gauge and replaced with a digital voltmeter. Replaced the plugs, wires, valve covers and just did alot of cleaning. I'm out of country right now but when I get back I'm repalceing the rest of the gauges with new digital ones and replaceing the shifter. I'm also going to repalce alot more wiring and put in new toggle switches. Try to post some more pics, thanks for looking.

My dad also had one of these with a 327. Non nearly as clean though. It was all motor. I loved that car. It was a BEAST. Have fun with yours.

hi Chris, I tried to e-mail ya back, but for some reason it wouldn't work. yeah V8 Vegas are fun to drive, and somewhat scary at times too. I used spindals off of a 1969 Camaro, but I had to make the bottom balljoint hole bigger in the A frames and weld in a balljoint for a 69 Camaro. the A frames are stock Vega parts, and I am pretty sure the top balljoints were too. my car still has Camaro drum brakes on the front, and I intended to change it over to disks, but it stops so good I just never did it. (also, no disk brake squeel that Vegas were famous for). since they were off of a Camaro, they are 5 lug too, and mine had long studs, but I changed them to shorter ones so I could use regular chrome lugnuts. I don't know if any of this is helpful or not, and it is a bit "old school", but I built this car in the early 1980's, and I did what I had to when it came to making things fit and work properly.
