This is the Ferrari 326 DINO. When rumors began circulating about a new possible "baby" Ferrari, I recalled the original 246 Dino, built in memory of Enzo Ferrari's son Dino. This vehicle was to carry the Dino badge, not the Ferrari Badge, as would be the case with my 326 design. The 326 designation indicates a 3.2 liter 6 cylinder engine.
The 326 would utilize a V6 based off the F340's V8. it would have 6 individual throttle bodies, F1 style exhaust and a 5 speed manual transmission. The body uses design cues from the original Pinin Farina designed 246 and 308 GTB. The wheels were designed after the Dino race car's gold painted magnesium knock offs. I pictured this vehicle to have a simplistic interior, with a cloth interior base version with very few power accesories. The frame would be aluminum extrusions and castings bonded together, with the body made entirely in carbon fiber. Through my own suppliers, the frame and body systems could be very low in cost. With the lack of power options and accesories, and lightweight materials used throughout, the car with under 390 hp could be nearly as quick as a F430. However, the price could be as low as 60,000 USD, and as many as 10,000 units could be sold annually, with additional sales from a spyder version 66,000, or a turbo version with over 450 hp. Using the Dino badge, this would not "depreciate" the Ferrari badge, but it would kick the 911's ass.
