Our Magden Mustang, shown here at the 2007 LA Auto Show on setup day, featuring the top down so people could see the M.1b Performance Computer gauges and graphics shown on the 7-inch LCD headunit.
This project's purpose is to demonstrate how to use the M.1b Performance Computer to monitor vehicle performance and also how it is easy to add gauges now. Just by plugging into the factory OBD-II connector, the M.1b Performance Computer will show anywhere from 12 to 17 gauges, depending on the vehicle. The M.1b works on anything from 1996 to current vehicles with OBD-II. That pretty much means almost everything.
So, it doesn't stop there. Since we wanted to monitor performance, especially after we added the Magnacharger supercharger kit, we needed to add some additional sensors the vehicle didn't have factory. We added vacuum/boost, dual wide-band lambdas, EGTs, fuel pressure, another Intake Air Temperature and a water temp for the air to water intercooler. This was all plug and play since Magden's M.1b is compatible with Zeitronix Zt-2 package. We put two of them on to get the dual lambdas and egts. Now we monitor all the temps, comparing the air intake at the air box to the temp right after the air to water intercooler. Since the M.1b can datalog and replay in the car, monitoring performance is easy. The data can be taken to other computer for further analysis if desired, since it is on the included USB stick.
We had some help from Misa Campo at the 2007 SEMA Show. What an outstanding spokesmodel. We look forward to her help again, maybe this year?
The latest changes were to install the newest Pioneer AVIC F90BT and change the wheels to black centers. This sits on ALT 20 x 8.5 in the front and 20 x 10s in the back, all wrapped with Firestone tires and protected by Gorilla locks.
A clean 3D Carbon body kit, Eibach Suspension, Classic Design Concepts style bar, sequential tail lights, hood props, door sills, trunk organizer, Roadwire two-tone leather interior, Passion center console, shift boot and door handles, JBL sound system, Bassani headers and race exhaust, HIDs by Sylvania/Valeo, E-grille by 3D Carbon, Custom paint by Crazy Painters, and an Invisible Bra by Star Shield round out the rest of the mods.
Stay tuned, we'll post more soon. We just had a photo shoot last week and this will be in Zeitronix's booth at SEMA!
