Project 240sx
Pretty much, I've always wanted one of these since I saw them drive down the road back in the early '90's. When Fast 'N Furious came out, I wasn't driving age yet and I nearly cried at seeing the price of these cars skyrocket and reach a peak when it came time for me to get a car. So I begrudingly got something else and went off to college. 4 years later, one of my college buddies called me up and said he was thinking about selling his '93 SE.
Problems it had when he sold it to me:
1. Passenger side door
2. Front bumper
3. Overheating, losing a cylinder, rattling at idle like a loose timing chain, battery draining in a day, needed to be smogged
Needless to say, not a good buy. He was tempted to just junk it, but I couldn't let me childhood desires go unheaded. I offered to buy it from him minus the cost of passing smog. $200 later, I finally owned the car of my childhood. What now? I drove it home...barely. It started to heat up pretty badly when I pulled into my driveway. So what had I gained?
The awesome about this car:
1. It's a '93 240sx SE. No spoiler to delete, 5-spd, KA24DE
2. Excellent interior condition
3. Already had Koni Adjustable with Eibach Pro's
So I had actually gained a great car worth restoring with a great interior. So now on to fixing the unfixable.
