My newest and oldest ride, a 1976 GM RV.

Freshly rebuild (350) small block...okay now I feel like an idiot, it's actually a 400 small block. DOH!

Freshly rebuilt tranny

1 ton chassis

all original right down to the shag carpet.

With the warm weather on it's way, time to start work on the RV. 1st stripping out the interior, curtains, old fridge, oven and stove top.

The re-fit is almost done inside, still needs the flooring, wiring up the stereo and speakers, some trim and then curtains.

New floating hardwood floor is going in this weekend, pics to follow.

Then it will be on to the exterior, get rid of a few rust spots and holes. Have to do away with the 70's stripe's and add something more modern. Also will be tinting all the windows, some new hubcabs(if I can find any, 16.5 rims make it harder).

I've noticed a slight exhaust leak which I think is coming from the drivers side exhaust manifold gasket. So I'll be replacing both sides and while I'm at it remove the rocker covers, clean em up and re-install with new gaskets.

Patched up a leak just before the passenger side muffler. Much quieter and better throttle responce. Sanded and painted the grille.

Original spare tire cover. Needs a little cleaning and moisturizing.PoundPup's 1976 Chevrolet VanPoundPup's 1976 Chevrolet Van

I'll be needing to scrape the roof and re-seal. It's not leaking but it does look rough.

With a few more miles down the road I definately need to work on the gas mileage...new fuel filter, replace the manifold gasket and give the carb a really good clean. The passenger front shock will need replacing soon, it's not terrible but I can definately feel her sinking and bouncing in that corner. I'll of course do both sides at the same time, and may replace the upper and lower ball joints while am at it.

We are starting to think that a dualtone blue striping work, kinda carry on the interior theme outside. Painted this time , not the stickers it has now. We got from my little woman's Aunt and Uncle a 12' blue striped awning from thier old trailer, so I think we will pick a medium and dark colour from this to go with.

I've removed the bikerack that stuck out the back 2 feet, just too much over hang for my liking. I want to find something more vertical in design, if I can get a swing out from under spare tire rack from a pickup then I'd have more room for a vertical the bike rack.
